What to expect at a LivSports Camp
The LivSports Youth Hockey Camp is an uplifting environment where athletes of all abilities grow both on and off the ice. Whether you are a beginner or travel club player, campers will receive age-appropriate instruction focused on fundamentals, skill development, and game understanding. Instruction is led by positive, experienced coaches who are passionate about the game. Campers should have foundational skating abilities.
Additionally, the LivSports Champion’s Curriculum emphasizes compassion, confidence, and teamwork. We create a fun, safe atmosphere where players are encouraged to work hard, support one another, and enjoy the game, all while learning life lessons that extend far beyond hockey.
Athletes are given the chance to use the lessons they learn to help accomplish the mission of LivFree, a pediatric cancer nonprofit that provides moments of joy to kids and families in the childhood cancer community. All this to prove the power of sport and the strength of using passion as a platform for good.

Camp Schedule
A typical day at camp is fast-paced and balances skill development drills, scrimmages, game situations, and mini games focused on having fun and building camaraderie amongst campers. The camp day begins at 8 AM and concludes at 12 PM. Campers will receive 15 hours of on-ice instruction over the duration of the week. Embedded in the camp day will also be messaging about LivFree and their mission. Campers will hear stories about kids and families that LivFree has helped, so they can better understand the impact their participation and fundraising provide.
-

Age Groups & Ability
Camp is open to players of all abilities. Our instructors will meet players where they are and adjust instruction so it is safe and age-appropriate. Campers are split into three groups: Mites (Ages 6-8), Squirts (Ages 9-10), and PeeWees (Ages 11-12). If a player demonstrates the ability or desire to join another group, our staff will place players where they will get the most out of the experience.
-

Coaches & Counselors
LivSports prides itself on hiring passionate, knowledgeable coaches who embody the traits we preach through our Champion’s Curriculum. Our coaches are empathetic and compassionate, and are committed to building the confidence of our campers while enhancing their hockey knowledge. Our coaches have a wide array of coaching and playing experience, and campers will cycle through different coaches each day, getting to learn and build relationships with our whole staff. Coaches are assisted by energetic high school players and counselors in training.
-

Facilities & Weather
Our youth hockey camp is held at Wonderland of Ice in Bridgeport, CT. Campers will have access to the upper sheet of ice and have space within the facility to get their gear on before taking the ice. No food will be sold on the premises, so we encourage campers to pack water and snacks as needed. LivFree merch will be sold in the main concourse during the duration of the camp. Camp is typically not impacted by weather.
-

Coaches in Training
Our camps welcome aspiring counselors who would like to volunteer their time to be a Counselor in Training. CIT’s will work alongside our head coaches and be given autonomy to organize games or drills that can enhance their leadership qualities. CIT’s must be at least 13 years of age and have a background playing hockey. If you are interested in learning more about our CIT program, please click the button below to complete the interest form.
