The 24 Hour Hockey Marathon is more than just a game — it’s nonstop action for an extraordinary cause. Players hit the ice for a full day of hockey, joining forces to raise funds and awareness for kids and families impacted by pediatric cancer.
From the first puck drop, it’s a display of endurance, teamwork, and heart. Whether you’re playing or cheering from the stands, you’ll experience the energy of hockey mixed with the joy of giving back.
Born in Connecticut and expanding to arenas across the country, the 24 Hour Hockey Marathon brings together passionate players, fans, and communities — proving that when we play for a purpose, we make a difference, one shift at a time.

Opening Showcase
Each Hockey Marathon event is kicked off with an electric Opening Showcase open to the public. This high-energy opening event brings together the hockey community, families, and fans for an unforgettable start to 24 straight hours of hockey played for children and families facing pediatric cancer.

At LivFree, our mission is to support children and families impacted by pediatric cancer by helping create moments of hope and joy.
Moments of Joy are meaningful experiences—big or small—that provide opportunities for connection, healing, renewed hope and joy. They offer childhood cancer patients, along with their siblings and parents, a break from hospital visits and hard days. They help families make lasting memories and experience hope through moments of joy.

LivSports brings athletes of all ages together to use their love of sports as a platform for hope and to bring joy to the pediatric cancer community. Throughout the year, LivFree hosts jamborees, camps and other sporting events across an expanding list of sports.

This event is adult hockey and players must be 18 years and up. Men and women are welcome to participate. All skill levels are welcome! From recreational adult league players to former D1 and semi-pro athletes, we place each player in a division that fits their ability.

Players are grouped based on skill and experience in divisions A, B and C. When players register, they are asked questions about their experience and preferred group. We’ll work with you to ensure a fun and competitive fit.

Each player is asked to raise $1,000 - $1,500 to support LivFree’s mission. This amount is symbolic and important for LivFree as it represents one child and family supported.
We provide tools, resources, and guidance to make fundraising easy and rewarding. If a player does not reach their goal, they will be charged the remaining balance at a date determined after their marathon.

Players average 6.5 hours on the ice, they rotate through multiple ice times over 24 hours.
Longest shifts: up to 2.5 hours (typically overnight)
Other sessions: 25–60 minutes

All players receive:
Custom event jerseys and hoodie
Swag (with extra rewards for fundraising milestones)
Access to premium arenas, your own locker and shared team facilities, along with personal trainers and other support staff.
All meals, snacks and drinks provided throughout the event.

At this time we are only looking for players who can commit to a full 24 hour game. Your actual playing time will be approximately 6.5 hours.
